SUSTAINABILITY

When in 2019, Gala González founded Am·lul the mission was very clear: change the fashion industry’s consumption habits by creating consciously made clothes. Our production and design philosophy is based on local and ethical values. We’re devoted to creating quality and appealing pieces to use for a long time. By offering drops of clothes, shoes and accessories we want to motivate people to adopt a more conscious and sustainable lifestyle.

PRODUCTION #MADEINSPAIN

For us, the Made in Spain concept is a real guarantee of know-how and quality. From the beginning, the key principle of Am·lul was to share and export what we Spanish do best.

“If you care about the products you consume on a daily basis, from what you eat to skin routines, then you should also care about how your clothes are made and where they come from” — Gala González.

All our production process is carried out in Spain, mostly in Barcelona. Five of the workshops we work with are in Barcelona. However, the knitwear is manufactured in A Coruña (north of Spain) and some of the clothes and accessories between Burgos and Madrid. Finally, t-shirts and sweatshirts are made in Portugal using premium cotton textiles.

SUPPLIERS

For our drops we have been working with a total of 36 suppliers. All of them work in countries where labour laws and market institutions are in line with international standards.

They are guaranteed good working conditions, worker representation and development opportunities. The aim is to ensure respect for workers' rights in the supply chain by working with suppliers in Italy, Spain and Portugal.

MATERIALS

The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world, just after the oil industry and produces 10% of all humanity’s carbon emissions. What’s more, 85% of all textiles are wasted every year, the equivalent of one garbage truck full of clothes is burned or dumped in a landfill every second.

Carefully choosing the materials is one of our main priority in order to contribute to a sustainable process. Since the beginning, our textiles were made using sustainable materials.

We work with either organic or recycled fabrics in order to create an environmental benefit. Our materials such as organic cotton or recycled linen have a lighter imprint on the environmental and are consciously produced in a more ethical or responsible manner.

Our materials are: Cotton, Wool, Linen, Cashmere, Silk, Mother of pearl, Viscose,                  Polyester, Elastane and Acrylic.

LONGEVITY

For achieving sustainability, we need to ensure that our products will continue to be useful for a lifetime. In order to do that, we carefully pick our fabrics and materials to produce product to last through years and be integrated in every season.

Every piece of ours will become a lifetime treasure if you treat it with care. Please wash our clothes at a cool temperature and avoid drying when possible. Our philosophy motivates our customers to adopt a sustainable lifestyle.

Changing habits and turning your consumption sustainable help develop a stronger awareness of what we really need.
